Terms of Service
Effective date: August 26, 2026 · BarcodeStack (barcodestack.com)
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of BarcodeStack (“we”, “us”), the website at barcodestack.com, and the label design, barcode generation, and printing tools it provides (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business.
2. The Service
BarcodeStack is a browser-based editor for designing and printing labels — including thermal shipping labels, inventory tags, and laser/inkjet sheet labels — with support for common barcode symbologies. The Service is currently in beta: features may change, break, or be removed at any time, and availability is not guaranteed.
3. Free tier, advertising & paid plans
- The free tier lets you design and print labels without an account and is supported by advertising. We may display third-party advertisements anywhere on the Service.
- Certain features — such as saving templates to the cloud — may require an account and/or a paid subscription. Prices and included features will be presented before you pay and may change with notice.
- You may not block, obscure, tamper with, or fraudulently interact with advertisements served on the Service.
4. Your content
You keep all rights to the label designs, data, and files you create or upload (“Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, and display your Content solely as needed to operate the Service (for example, storing a saved template or rendering a preview). On the free tier, designs are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers. You are solely responsible for your Content and for having the rights to everything it contains.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to create, print, or distribute:
- fraudulent, counterfeit, or deceptive shipping labels, postage, or postage indicia, or any label designed to imitate a carrier-issued label for deceptive purposes;
- counterfeit product identifiers — including UPC/EAN/GTIN numbers you are not licensed or authorized to use — or labels intended to misrepresent the origin, identity, or authenticity of goods;
- labels that infringe any third party’s trademark, copyright, or other rights;
- QR codes or links that point to malware, phishing, or otherwise harmful content;
- content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of sale.
You also agree not to probe, disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, reverse engineer, or circumvent access controls or advertising on the Service.
6. Barcodes, numbering & compliance
- BarcodeStack renders barcode graphics from data you supply. Generating a barcode image does not create, register, or license the underlying number.
- UPC/EAN company prefixes and GTINs are issued exclusively by GS1 and its member organizations. If you sell in retail stores or on marketplaces, obtain your numbers from GS1 or follow your marketplace’s identifier rules (for example, Amazon FNSKU).
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of encoded data, for your right to use the numbers you encode, and for compliance with retailer, marketplace, carrier, and regulatory labeling requirements that apply to your products.
- Always verify printed barcodes with a scanner — ideally a proper barcode verifier — before a production run.
7. Printing & output
Printed results depend on your printer, media, drivers, and settings — none of which we control. We do not guarantee that any label will print at exact dimensions, scan reliably, or be accepted by any carrier, retailer, or scanner. Test before you rely on it.
8. Accounts
When accounts become available, you must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
9. Third-party services
The Service is built on third-party infrastructure and services (including Cloudflare for hosting and storage, Auth0 for authentication, and advertising partners). Their availability is outside our control, and their terms and privacy practices apply to their processing.
10. Our intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding, and you may not copy, resell, or offer the Service to third parties as your own.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. See our Disclaimer for barcode- and printing-specific details.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL — INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, REJECTED OR MISROUTED SHIPMENTS, CARRIER ADJUSTMENTS OR SURCHARGES, MARKETPLACE SUSPENSIONS, RETAILER CHARGEBACKS OR FINES, WASTED LABEL STOCK, OR UNSCANNABLE BARCODES — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND (B) US $10. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You will defend and hold us harmless from claims and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any third party’s rights.
14. Changes
We may update the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be signaled by updating the effective date above (and, where appropriate, additional notice). Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (or any account) at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — including 6, 7, and 10–13 — survive termination.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes not subject to arbitration or small-claims procedures.
